https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChLtXXpo4Ge1ReTEboVvTDg https://ift.tt/wsB3FzP Speaking with Reuters in Singapore Sunday, Canada’s Chief of Defence Staff Jennie Carignan confirmed potential plans for Canada to join U.S. President Donald Trump’s upcoming “Golden Dome” missile defence system will be “up for discussion and development over the next few months.” In the interim, Carignan said Canada is “engaged in modernizing our [military] capabilities and equipment as part of NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) modernization projects.” Carignan also noted the Canadian Armed Forces’ recent spike in military recruitment, after an extended dry spell. She said the shift was inspired by increase global defence threats. "The global environment is such that defence is more present in people's understanding," Carignan said. "More of the threats are in the lines of a large-scale conflict and for us it's to again transform our military to address those evolving threats,” she added.
