The Saskatchewan government has issued an evacuation alert for the dozens of residents who live in the small northern hamlet of Timber Bay. Over the weekend, Premier Scott Moe attributed the start of “over 90 per cent of the fires” in Saskatchewan to be caused by “human activity.” “If you take away the human activity that's starting those fires, we would have a lot less fires in the province,” Moe said Sunday, further suggesting an increase in agricultural production, province and nationwide, would help prevent wildfires throughout the season.
