Iran’s president responds to Trump’s threats to “annihilate” the Islamic Republic

Pezeshkian took to the podium to address the UNGA on Wednesday, saying “the United States president described us as terrorists, we have been the victims of terrorism.” He went on to hold up images of children who he says were killed by weapons used by the United States and Israel earlier in the war, while also condemning the assassination of Iran’s Supreme leader, Ali Hosseini Khamenei. The U.S. delegation quickly walked off during Pezeshkian’s speech. “We will not bow our head… We do not seek power in order to attack or commit aggression. We seek energy for progress, not to threaten societies with weapons,” the leader said.
