The flooding in Mokwa continued into Thursday morning, and since then, approximately 3,000 homes have been submerged, displacing thousands of families. Speaking to reporters on Friday, as search and rescue teams continued to sift through mud and debris for bodies, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Director-General Zubaida Umar said an estimated 200 bodies have been recovered so far. As search efforts continue, NEMA has delivered large quantities of disaster relief supplies including food, utensils, and tents to support those displaced by the flash floods.
