The case is part of the broader Maya Achi justice process, which began after dozens of women filed reports of wartime sexual violence between 2011 and 2015. Prosecutors presented more than 160 pieces of evidence, with survivors speaking out after decades of silence. This is the second major verdict in the case; five other ex-patrolmen were convicted in 2022.
