The latest numbers show more than 620,000 hectares have been scorched — an area bigger than Prince Edward Island — at just the beginning of the season. And just as Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe declared a provincewide state of emergency, Gates Guarin reports on the dire need of aid as provincial resources are stretched thin. Canada's steel and aluminum producers are reacting to another recent tariff threat from U.S. President Donald Trump.
