Ghislaine Maxwell refuses to answer questions, pleads 5th Amendment in House Epstein investigation

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChLtXXpo4Ge1ReTEboVvTDg https://ift.tt/Mf4meWO Ghislaine Maxwell, the former girlfriend and confidante of the late sex offender financier Jeffrey Epstein, refused to answer questions at a Congressional deposition on Monday, Republican lawmakers say. "As expected, Ghislaine Maxwell [invoked] the Fifth [Amendment] and refused to answer any questions,” James Comer, chairman of the House of Representatives Oversight Committee told reporters. “This obviously is very disappointing. We had many questions to ask about the crimes she and Epstein committed, as well as questions about potential co-conspirators,” he added. Maxwell, who was found guilty in 2021 for her role in helping Epstein sexually abuse underage girls for years on his private island, was to be questioned from the federal prison camp in Texas where she is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking. Furthermore, lawmakers revealed that Maxwell would consider answering questions in exchange for “clemency” or a pardon from U.S. President Donald Trump.
