Attorney General and Deputy Premier Niki Sharma said she was shocked by a Mother Jones report alleging ChatGPT provided the Tumbler Ridge shooter with detailed information about using a shotgun in a crowded classroom. The Mother Jones investigation alleged Jesse Van Rootselaar continued discussing violent scenarios through a second account after an initial ban. “It’s far worse than I ever imagined,” Sharma said, adding, “The information and the assistance that was provided to the shooter to carry out a mass casualty. If this is not impetus for change, I don't know what is.” As of this writing, OpenAI has not responded to the allegations.
