https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChLtXXpo4Ge1ReTEboVvTDg https://ift.tt/ZHsVu1B On Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump ordered a “permanent pause” on asylum seekers coming into the United States. The comments come after the shooting of two national guards on Wednesday that, according to investigators, was perpetrated by an Afghan national who entered the U.S. in 2021. “If you talk about the Afghans - you know, there’s a problem because so many bad ones came in on the planes. They just walked in. Whoever the strongest people were physically got in on the planes; there was no checking. They just swamped in, took off – we had no idea who they were,” Trump said Thursday at Mar-A-Lago. UN spokesperson Jeremy Laurence urged the Trump administration Friday to continue allowing asylum seekers entry into the United States, "All states, regardless, have human rights obligations. And particularly when it comes to protection concerns of people who have fled countries and sought refuge elsewhere, they are entitled to protection under international law, and that should be given due process."
