Officials said 15 people were struck by gunfire, and four victims— ages 8, 9, 14 and 21— have died, with the remaining victims still in hospital. “This is when families come together, celebrate, share memories… violence of this nature has absolutely no place at any time,” Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Heather Brent said. The incident took place at a banquet hall on Lucile Avenue, and authorities say the victims include both juveniles and young adults. Police have not identified a suspect, released a motive, or confirmed what led to the shooting as investigators continue to gather evidence.
