RCMP said that in both instances, victims reported that they had been communicating with a person through Grindr and had agreed to meet in person.
North Vancouver RCMP Const. Paul Reece says, “when they met that person, it turned out to be a group of young persons.”
The victims were then assaulted or threatened by the group, and both incidents also involved damaging the victims’ vehicles.
RCMP’s Serious Crimes Unit is conducting an extensive CCTV canvass and are searching for witnesses in the area.
Rumina Daya reports.
