Carney said last week that Canada "welcomes" the European Union's proposal to become an "associate member." At the same time, the U.S. is aiming to replace Canada with Belarus for purchasing potash. In a social media post, U.S. President Donald Trump says his administration is working on a deal with the Eastern European country and claimed the pricing would be far less than what the U.S. is paying Canada.
