Shooting at rave in Switzerland leaves 1 dead, 5 injured

Aarau Canton Police spokesperson Bernhard Graser says there is “a strong force right at the crime scene,” investigating the shooting that took place around 2:30 a.m. CET Sunday morning. A large police presence can also be seen across the state, as the motive and exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. Local residents are in shock, with Kim Wehrt saying the town, which is 40 minutes west of Zurich, usually feels like a “safe and secure city.” Switzerland has one of the highest rates of gun ownership in Europe, but violent shootings are rare.
