More than 20,000 people are currently under an evacuation order with no timeline to return to their homes, and work crews continue to repair critical infrastructure. The update will be attended by Minister of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness Kelly Greene, Minister of Forests Ravi Parmar and Cliff Chapman of the BC Wildfire Service, among others. The Bald Range wildfire burning near Summerland, B.C., that broke out Friday is currently measured around 16,000 hectares and is still burning out of control.
