“Out of control”: Poilievre says Liberals will add $730B to Canada’s deficit in next 5 years

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChLtXXpo4Ge1ReTEboVvTDg https://ift.tt/N7x2oZy Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre came after the Liberals on Monday over national debt during question period in the House of Commons on Monday. “More inflation is on the horizon. As the Parliamentary Budget Officer calculated that this government is expected to add $730 billion to our national debt over the next five years. That's three quarters of $1 trillion more on the national credit card, working out to $40,000 in debt for every single Canadian. More handouts to corporate power brokers, more interest to bankers, more food and housing inflation for Canadians,” Poilievre said. Revenue Minister François-Philippe Champagne shot back at Poilievre, saying, “One thing Canadians understand is that the leader of the opposition keeps talking the Canadian economy down, keeps talking against the industry in this country.” Champagne continued, saying, “We have the strongest fiscal position in the G7. We have the lowest net debt to GDP in the G7. We have one of the lowest deficit in the G7, and we're the only country with Germany in the G7 to (have) a Triple-A credit rating.” For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Follow Global News on X HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on TikTok HERE: https://ift.tt/pLQsxE0 #GlobalNews
