Police said a suspect and a citizen are also dead. A second officer is in hospital in critical condition. A public safety alert issued across radio, TV and mobile phones Monday afternoon advised residents of the incident. They were urged to shelter inside, lock the doors and stay away from windows while police responded. Police said the suspect was eventually stopped, but in a post on X shortly before 2 p.m., said one of the officers had died.
