A chorus of government and police officials called for calm Tuesday after a graphic video shared online showed a man stabbing a Belfast resident in Northern Ireland. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said they’ve arrested a Sudanese man on suspicion of attempted murder and the victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his eyes, face and back late Monday. Various leaders across the UK have urged residents to remain calm and allow authorities to complete their investigation as calls for protest circulate online. “I understand that last night's attempted murder will leave people feeling a range of emotions from fear to anger.” Assistant Chief Constable of the PSNI Ryan Hendersn said, “Everyone in Northern Ireland will, however, sadly remember the disorder which took place over the last two years. No one needs to see a repeat of this.” For more info, please go to https://ift.tt/az2HJ78 Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Follow Global News on X HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on TikTok HERE: https://ift.tt/Nu0513I #GlobalNews
