Iran protests continue for 6th day, Trump threatens to intervene if peaceful protesters killed

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChLtXXpo4Ge1ReTEboVvTDg https://ift.tt/wb6N2xZ On Friday, Iranian protests continued for the sixth day since shopkeepers closed their businesses on Sunday over economic hardship and a sharp currency slide. U.S. President Donald Trump said on social media that if Iran shoots and violently kills peaceful protesters, the United States will come to their rescue. Iran’s economy has struggled for years, mostly due to Western sanctions over Tehran’s nuclear program. However, according to analyst Sanam Vakil, things have gotten worse due to a multitude of factors. “Economic mismanagement, corruption, water and an electricity crisis, is putting a huge amount of stress on a population that has protested repeatedly for decades now,” she said. Iranian state-affiliated media and rights groups have reported at least six deaths since Wednesday.
