The wide-scale operation in Gaza City could start within days. Netanyahu is meeting with senior security officials in southern Israel on Thursday. Israel has faced criticism for the plan, with the head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warning that many Palestinians do not have the strength to “undergo a new displacement” due to the unfolding hunger crisis in the enclave.
