Speaking Tuesday in Geneva, Jens Laerke, the spokesperson for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), said despite an uptick in aid deliveries over the last couple of weeks, the efforts remain “far insufficient.” “The difference between this very small amount of aid that has now come in – and everybody expects me to clap and say thank you – and the massive needs are there are people who are literally dying on a daily basis,” Laerke said.
