8-year-old Toronto boy killed by stray bullet while asleep in bed

Police were called to Martha Eaton Way and Trethewey Drive on the north side of the city around 12:30 a.m. When they arrived, they found a boy had been shot. The child was rushed to hospital but did not survive. A spokesperson for the family called his death “horrific and senseless.” Toronto police say they’re allocating every resource in the city to find who is responsible.
