Miguel Uribe Turbay, a possible candidate in Colombia’s presidential election next year, was shot and wounded at a campaign rally in Bogota on Saturday, authorities said. Colombian officials have announced the arrest of a 15-year-old boy in connection with the shooting. Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro said no hypothesis would be ruled out in the investigation. "A Colombian political leader – no matter his posture, what team he is part of, the way he thinks – was the victim of an assassination attempt that hopefully will not succeed," he added. Thousands of Colombians marched on Sunday in Bogota to show their support for Uribe and hope for his recovery.
