Anti-ICE protests: Trump considers invoking Insurrection Act in response to LA riots

Trump added that in his view, had he not deployed the National Guard Los Angeles would be "on fire right now." Trump also said more U.S. cities should expect widespread ICE raids similar to the ones which took place in the past week in Los Angeles, California - kicking off days of protests in the city. Tensions over the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown escalated this weekend after U.S. President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of National Guard troops to the Los Angeles area to quell protests that at times turned violent. Dozens of demonstrators have been arrested for clashing with police over the past three days after federal immigration authorities conducted several raids in the city of over four million people, including in communities with large Latino populations.
