Trump placed a wreath of flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in a solemn ceremony, accompanied by Vice President JD Vance and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth. The three officials stood as the national anthem and “Taps” were played to honour the service and sacrifice of fallen service members. This was Trump’s first visit to Arlington since last year, when his visit was the subject of some controversy over Trump’s decision to take a photo over the grave of a fallen soldier.
