RFK Jr. calls for investigation into “environmental toxins” linked to autism “epidemic”

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChLtXXpo4Ge1ReTEboVvTDg https://ift.tt/wNSztHV In his first press conference since becoming head of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Wednesday addressed the rising cases of autism nationwide since 2020. A study from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) this month shows that the approximately one in 31 children were diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in 2022 –trending upwards from each previous report. Sharing the “late” statistic, Kennedy claims the rate for young boys being diagnosed – in 2025 – is now one in 12.5. And despite years of research on genetics being a factor in causing the developmental disorder, the Republican figurehead said it was a “dead end,” further suggesting that “environmental toxins” are a primary cause for the consecutive spikes. “This is a preventable disease. We know it's environmental exposure. It has to be. Genes do not cause epidemics,” Kennedy said. In roughly two or three weeks, Kennedy said new studies on environmental toxins will begin. He had previously set a deadline for results in September, and on Wednesday vowed that the HHS will deliver “some of the answers” on what he calls the autism “epidemic” by then.
