Wildfire smoke persists in Toronto, conditions may improve Friday: Environment Canada

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChLtXXpo4Ge1ReTEboVvTDg https://ift.tt/oiJ7OnZ Wildfire smoke continues to blanket large parts of southern Ontario, including Toronto, which still ranks among the worst air quality in the world. Environment Canada’s orange air quality warning remained in place Thursday, a day after it was first implemented. The agency says conditions may not improve until Friday morning. The smoke from the wildfires in northern Ontario turned skies in Canada’s largest city orange and plummeted Toronto’s air quality to the worst in the world throughout Wednesday morning. Several U.S. cities now have worsening air quality due to the wildfires in Canada, with Detroit, Minneapolis and Chicago ranking in the top three cities for the worst air quality as of Thursday afternoon. As Megan King reports, Environment Canada says the wildfire smoke puts everyone’s health at risk – regardless of age or health status.
