Mixed reaction in Gaza and Israel after Trump announces peace plan

The 20-point ceasefire plan calls on the militant group to surrender its weapons and destroy its vast network of tunnels. It also envisions Israeli forces withdrawing from Gaza and the arrival of a new technocratic Palestinian government. According to The Associated Press, a Hamas official and a regional official said the agreement is contingent on concessions from Israel. Senior Hamas official Bassem Naim confirmed in a post on X that the group agreed to the deal. Both Israelis and Palestinians on the ground remain skeptical an agreement can be reached. “We are not seeing any agreement at all, nothing from what he (Trump) is saying. Where is it?” Samir Ayad, a displaced Palestinian said. “We don't think, this agreement will happened because we don't believe Hamas will do it, they are lying,” Israeli resident Erez Manor, explains, “They want to continue to kill us as soon as possible.” Israel has not yet commented on the agreement, which comes nine months after a U.S.-brokered ceasefire to end the fighting between Hamas and Israel was signed.
