Local weather stations and residents reported hail and thunderstorms, and a tornado warning was in effect.
Tuesday night’s system was the latest to make its way through the province, with heavy rain, high winds and hail reported by Environment Canada.
As of 11 a.m. CT, Wednesday, Manitoba Hydro reported that nearly 20,000 people in Winnipeg were without power due to the storm system. Across the province the Crown corporation said there were 800 outages and about 30,000 customers affected.
