According to Statistics Canada, Albertans' home insurance premiums have skyrocketed due to an increase in the frequency and severity of extreme weather events. While there has been a nearly 40-per-cent increase in premiums across the country, the data shows Alberta was the hardest hit with a 56 per cent hike between December 2020 and 2025. Over the past two decades, the data shows a nearly 400-per-cent increase. Jasmine King reports.

Balloons often float off into nature, end up in oceans, or in landfills. Now, one scientist in the U.K. believes she has invented a truly biodegradable balloon that can degrade in nine months; they call it Bioloon. Redmond Shannon explains.
