Place Stadium on Thursday after Canada powered to a historic 6-0 victory over Qatar, a result that put the co-hosts on top of Group B and moved them closer to the World Cup knockout stage.
The atmosphere was festive as fans embraced, draped themselves in Canadian flags and celebrated Canada’s first-ever men’s World Cup group stage victory.
“Oh, it's absolutely fantastic to be a part of Canadian men's soccer history in their first win, especially in the beautiful city of Vancouver,” said a Canadian fan after the win.
Fans were also at Niagara Falls, Ont. to watch Canada take on Qatar at the World Cup. "Canada are going to win the World Cup, no doubt about it, I know it 100%, I feel it. That's why I am here, that's why I am here," another Canadian fan said.
Canada will face Switzerland in its final Group B match on June 24, with qualification for the knockout rounds now firmly within reach.
