https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChLtXXpo4Ge1ReTEboVvTDg https://ift.tt/pUn6fa9 U.S. Vice President JD Vance answered questions Tuesday about the creation of a $1.8 billion fund to compensate prosecuted allies of President Donald Trump after he moved to drop his lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service.
The “Anti-Weaponization Fund” was announced by the Justice Department as part of a deal to resolve Trump’s case over the leak of his tax returns.
When asked whether money from the fund would go to protesters convicted of assaulting officers at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, Vance said they’re “trying to compensate people where the book was thrown at them, they were mistreated by the legal system,” and that they’re “going to evaluate these things on a case-by-case basis.”
