China, Russia sign unity pacts as Xi warns world at risk of return to "law of the jungle”

From trade to technology to energy, this unity pact ran the gamut, with Putin and Jinping both expressing a united front on international affairs. Putin vowed continuous development of the "comprehensive partnership" with China – one he said is “based on the principles of equality and consideration of each other’s interests.” Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, China has become Moscow’s top trading partner, and amid global uncertainty brought forth by U.S. President Donald Trump’s war on Iran, the Russia-China relationship seems to be at an all-time high. “The world today is far from peaceful, with unilateralism and hegemonism posing profound dangers.
