Israeli settler filmed beating a dog in Palestinian village: Israeli media

A video circulating on social media on Friday showed a man said to be an Israeli settler repeatedly clubbing a guard dog owned by a Palestinian family in the occupied West Bank village of Atara near Ramallah. The owner of the dog said that the dog was taken to a veterinary clinic for treatment after the attack. Israeli media outlets said that the assailant was an Israeli settler and was one of several settlers who attacked the village on Friday. Israeli police said they are trying to identify the suspect and "fully pursue the investigation." Around 700,000 Jewish settlers live in the West Bank. The settlements are deemed illegal by the United Nations and much of the international community. #israel #westbank #palestine
