Displaced Lebanese return to ruined homes, rubble amid fragile truce

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChLtXXpo4Ge1ReTEboVvTDg https://ift.tt/2fsMth3 Residents displaced by the Israeli bombardment of southern Lebanon returned Sunday to find their homes reduced to rubble amid a fragile truce between Israel and Hezbollah. Zahra Eid, a displaced woman from the southern community of Qasmiyeh, said she would have to extend her stay at her sister’s, as her home had been completely destroyed. “The important thing is that we returned to our town with our heads held high,” she said. The U.S. and Israel’s conflict in the Middle East, which now approaches the two-month mark, has killed at least 3,000 people in Iran and nearly 2,300 in Lebanon. Thirteen U.S. service members have also been killed, along with 23 Israeli civilians and 15 soldiers.
