Bovino’s suggestion that Pretti brandished a firearm and claim that he “wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement” has faced widespread backlash. Videos capturing several angles of Saturday’s tragedy show no clear evidence Pretti brandished a weapon before he was killed. Bovino is set to leave Minnesota Tuesday and return to his former job in California, where he will soon retire, The Atlantic reported Monday.
