Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian claims the unrest is being stoked by Israel and the United States, “giving instructions to these people, telling them: go ahead, we are backing you." Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has openly stated that “the USA stands ready to help” in a post on Truth Social. Protests started in Iran on December 28, beginning in response to economic hardship and quickly turning political, with protesters demanding an end to the Islamic regime.
