New York City records highest snowfall total in nearly 4 years, storm paralyzes other parts of state

The biggest snowfall totals were north and east of New York City and the highest total recorded was 9.1 inches in New Fairfield, Conn. More than 1,500 flights were cancelled Friday and Gov. Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency ahead of the storm.
