At Toronto’s Pearson Airport, more than 500 flights have been either cancelled or delayed. The mix of snow and freezing rain is also making driving dangerous, as the storm pushes across the continent. Sean O'Shea has tonight’s top story. And in the West Coast, a powerful atmospheric river hammered California over the holidays, triggering record rainfall, flooding and evacuations across multiple regions. Emergency crews say the threat continued Friday – with rain still falling and saturated ground increasing the risk of flooding and debris flows. Severe thunderstorms and damaging winds caused flash flooding in the northern state, while parts of southern California saw up to eight inches of rain in nearby mountains. Officials warn additional rain could worsen conditions – especially near burn scar areas as crews remain on high alert statewide. Neetu Garcha reports. Nigeria's government says it cooperated with the United States in airstrikes targeting Islamic militants in the country's northwest. The Christmas Day attack hit sites in the northwestern Sokoto State. U.S. President Donald Trump says the strikes were aimed at the so-called Islamic State – which he claims is primarily targeting Christians in Africa's most populous nation. Nigeria's foreign minister, however, says the operation had nothing to do with a particular religion, and data suggests militant attacks are targeting Muslims and Christians alike. Redmond Shannon reports. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will travel to the U.S. this weekend to meet with President Donald Trump. It's the latest development in a diplomatic push to end the nearly four-year Russia-Ukraine war, and it comes as Moscow ramps up its attacks over the holidays. Mackenzie Gray reports.
