https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChLtXXpo4Ge1ReTEboVvTDg https://ift.tt/Fo1XgP2 Veterans who received the income replacement benefit (IRB) are receiving overpayment letters from Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) requiring them to pay in the thousands. The IRB is granted to Veterans who have been discharged due to illness or injury from service. Meanwhile, many of the Veterans who have received letters claim they have kept their financials up to date and that this is a mistake. Angus Cameron, a Navy Veteran, was shocked to learn of these letters from others who had been using IRB, “I’ve never heard so many Veterans getting overpayment letters form veterans affairs Canada in thousands and thousands of dollars.” VAC has confirmed they’ve sent out 90 letters since October and claim “It was discovered that some Veterans, who receive IRB, did not report that they had started receiving the Canada Pension Plan as income.” Global's Heidi Petracek reports.
