After a five-day manhunt, suspect Claudio Neves Valente was located deceased in a storage unit in Salem, New Hampshire which he had being renting since November, according to U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts Leah Foley. In addition, investigators say the 48-year-old suspect killed Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) professor Nuno Loureiro, just two days after the rampage at Brown University. The two “attended the same academic program” in Portugal between 1995 and 2000, Foley revealed. Neves Valenta’s motive remains under investigation. A secondary suspect came forward to Providence police Thursday, roughly one hour after his photo was released to the public. The individual offered information on Neves Valente and “blew this case right open,” according to Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neroha.
