Alleged Bondi Beach shooter charged with 15 counts of murder as victims' families hold funerals

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese led a solemn gathering of religious and community leaders on stage in Sydney, as the city mourned the victims of the Bondi Beach tragedy. The parents of 10-year-old Matilda - the youngest of the Bondi shooting victims - recounted the moments leading up to the attack that took their daughter's life Sunday, saying that they initially thought the shots were "fireworks" and a "bad joke." Fifteen people were killed in the supposedly ISIS-inspired attack which is being classed as Australia’s deadliest mass shooting. The assailants were father and son. While the son, 24, just woke up from a coma after being shot by authorities, his father was fatally shot on-scene.
