He said he was "encouraging the federal government to allow (Ontario) to make sure these whales survive in a really great atmosphere or a new home." The federal government would not grant an export permit to ship the 30 whales to the Chimelong Ocean Kingdom aquarium, Fisheries Minister Joanne Thompson said Wednesday.
