Poilievre demands Carney makes immediate trade deal with US during Trump visit

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChLtXXpo4Ge1ReTEboVvTDg https://ift.tt/LzgGI58 Prime Minister Mark Carney set off for Washington, D.C. Monday ahead of his second meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump regarding tariffs and the ongoing trade war. Addressing the matter during question period in the House of Commons, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre demanded Carney establish an immediate trade deal with the U.S. “Surely he's not just going for a photo op and to make more excuses,” Poilievre said, noting Carney promised to secure a deal by July 21st. Responding to the Conservative push, Canada-U.S. Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc made clear that Canada still has work to do with the U.S. on “sectoral tariffs.” “We have work to do in building an economy In North America that is in the interest of Canadian businesses and Canadian workers. That is exactly the conversation that the prime minister will have with the president,” LeBlanc said.
