Chicago mayor signs order rejecting Trump’s threat of military, national guard deployment in city

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChLtXXpo4Ge1ReTEboVvTDg https://ift.tt/H2Y1bGD Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson took a stand against U.S. President Donald Trump Saturday, by signing an executive order that would prepare the “windy city” for any potential federal enforcement takeover operations. Since assigning thousands of troops in Los Angeles earlier this year and Washington a few weeks ago – as well as deploying the national guard – Trump has already threatened to expand his crackdown on Democrat-led cities to allegedly reduce crime. “We will protect our Constitution, we will protect our city, and we will protect our people,” Johnson said during a press conference. “We do not want to see tanks in our streets. We do not want to see families ripped apart.” he added. In the new executive order, Johnson requested Chicago law enforcement personnel not cooperate with federal officials in case of a deployment. He also demanded federal agents stand down from making such attempts.
