Putin warned troops will remain on high alert for potential violations “by the enemy,” adding that he assumes Ukraine will “follow our example.” As air raid sirens wail throughout Ukraine, residents seem doubtful Putin will honour the ceasefire. The declaration comes a day after U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the country will stop trying to broker a Russia-Ukraine peace deal within days unless there are clear signs that a deal can be done.
