Zelenskyy says he’s “ready” to give up presidency if it means peace in Ukraine

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChLtXXpo4Ge1ReTEboVvTDg https://ift.tt/ZUg4Qpm Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Sunday, on the eve of the three-year anniversary of the war in Ukraine, that he is “ready” to leave his post if it would mean peace for his country. “If its about peace in Ukraine and you really want me to leave my position, I am ready to do that,” he told Ukrainians during a press conference in Kyiv. “Secondly, I can exchange it for NATO (membership) if there is an opportunity. I’ll do it immediately without a long conversation about it.” Zelenskyy said he’d like to see U.S. President Donald Trump be a partner to Ukraine rather than simply a mediator. The Ukrainian president also reiterated his demand for security guarantees to end the conflict and said he believes a U.S. troop deployment in Ukraine would be “logical” if a critical minerals deal between the two countries was reached. He added that he doesn’t believe a ceasefire agreement negotiated between the U.S. and Russia, without the participation of Ukraine, would be successful.
