https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChLtXXpo4Ge1ReTEboVvTDg https://ift.tt/GDEQcdp Surveillance footage released by the Thames Valley Police earlier this week captures the moment of a peculiar UK heist, where five men came running out of Woodstock’s Blenheim Palace with a disassembled golden toilet. Before being stolen in September 2019, the 216lb, 18-karat-gold latrine served as an art installation at the UNESCO World Heritage Site — also the birthplace of the late prime minister, Sir Winston Churchill. The fully functional piece was titled ‘America’ and commissioned by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan. The toilet was insured for USD$6 million before it was stolen, and worth approximately £4.8 million in gold alone — equating to more CAD$8.7 million. Three out of the five suspects involved recently pleaded not guilty in court, while a fourth, James Sheen, was convicted for burglary after pleading guilty, reports say.
