Two of the wounded were in critical condition, police said at a news conference, adding that the victims ranged in age from 14 to 61. Several hundred people were at the Old West End Festival at the time of the shooting, authorities said. Police were searching for suspects in what Deputy Chief Joseph Heffernan called a "pretty active" investigation. "You know, it's just a shame a few people, for whatever reasons going through their head, decide to disrupt something that has been a beloved community event for many, many, many years," Heffernan said.
