https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChLtXXpo4Ge1ReTEboVvTDg https://ift.tt/usxeWY5 Minister of Finance and National Revenue, François-Philippe Champagne, is expected to hold a press conference to support Jasper National Park amid wildfire season. He will be joined by Minister of Emergency Management and Community Resilience Eleanor Olszewski, Mayor Richard Ireland, and Andrew Campbell, Interim President and CEO of Parks Canada. It's anticipated the federal government will provide around $500 million in funding for the Town of Jasper to support the continued rebuild after a wildfire destroyed hundreds of structures in 2024. On July 22, 2024, a swiftly-racing wildfire forced 25,000 visitors and town residents to leave, jumping in their cars in the dark of night to flee to safety. Two days after the park was emptied of all but essential and emergency workers, shifting winds and towers of flame showered the townsite wtih embers that lit new fires. One third of all structures were destroyed. The announcement is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. (MT) For more info, please go to https://ift.tt/pno2Osj Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Follow Global News on X HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on TikTok HERE: https://ift.tt/Af0X7PR #wildfire #jasper #GlobalNews
