Canada-US trade minister announces $1B+ funding for New Brunswick military base

Additionally, the federal government will invest in CAF personnel, strengthening access to career, health and administrative services and an upgraded transition centre to support veterans adjusting to civilian life. The announcement comes days after Prime Minister Mark Carney revealed Canada had achieved NATO’s two per cent defence spending goal Wayne Long, secretary of state responsible for financial institutions, said the latest government investments come as part of their efforts to meet the military alliance's 2035 five per cent target.
